Can Plastic Be Green?

While plastic is often seen as a problem, it can actually be part of the solution in a circular economy, where the focus is on minimizing waste and using resources as efficiently as possible. At Didak Injection, we demonstrate how plastics can contribute to a greener future.

Raw Materials: Maximum Use of Recycled Material

From the start of our production process, we prefer to use recycled material, or regrind, as long as it meets the requirements of the end product, the customer, or the regulations. For example, for food packaging, we cannot use recycled materials according to legal requirements.

The waste material from our production can consist of a mix of different types of plastics. We strive to separate these plastics as well as possible before recycling them to ensure the highest quality.

The idea is simple but powerful: by using recycled material, we reduce our ecological footprint. We give materials a second life and decrease the demand for new (virgin) raw materials.

Production with 100% Green Energy

Onze producten worden gemaakt met 100% groene energie.

  • On the roof of our headquarters, 2,500 m² of solar panels provide energy.
  • The Albertstroom biomass plant, located next to our production facility, generates energy using biomass digestion technology.

Use and Reuse: Long Lifespan

In an era where sustainability is crucial, plastic products deserve more appreciation. Although they are sometimes criticized for their environmental impact, plastics have a significant advantage: they last a long time. With this in mind, we develop numerous new products across various sectors.

Many of our products, such as crates, can be reused for years and protect the products they carry, thereby reducing waste.

Other products or components can last for decades without cracking, leaking, or corroding. Thus, plastics are a reliable and reusable choice for many projects. By making long-lasting products, we help both industry and consumers reduce their environmental impact.

In short, while plastics have challenges, they also have strengths that we must not forget in our quest for a more sustainable future.

Recycling: Minimizing Waste

At Didak Injection, we are committed to recycling plastics. Rejected products from our production are ground and reused as raw material. Because we need fewer virgin materials, we save the energy required for the production of new materials and thus reduce CO2 emissions.

Although there are challenges, such as efficiently separating different plastic streams and improving recycling systems, recycling is a crucial part of our sustainability policy.

In summary: although plastics face challenges, they also have strengths that we must not forget in our quest for a more sustainable future.
